《雅克和他的主人》是米兰·昆德拉颇有影响的戏剧代表作，改编自法国启蒙思想家狄德罗的小说《宿命论者雅克》。故事从雅克和他的主人的漫游经历开始，主仆二人在途中不但对当时社会的流行话题，从宗教、阶级到男女关系、道德伦理，不断加以反思和辩论，而且以调笑的口吻讲述了各种各样的趣事。这些应接不暇的主题、层出不穷的插曲，以及大量涌现的离题发挥，使整个剧本情节错综复杂，也构成了阅读剧本的最大乐趣。
