作为享誉全球的小提琴家，宁峰以其音乐中饱满的抒情性，天生的乐感和令人叹服的演奏技巧受到国际乐坛的广泛认可。他在全世界各地与著名的交响乐团及指挥家合作演出，并且也经常在国际上最重要的音乐季和音乐节举行独奏及室内乐音乐会演出。《华盛顿邮报》盛赞宁峰有着“奶油一样细腻质感的音色和真实的情感”，《BBC音乐杂志》就宁峰近期的录音评论道“悦耳又纯粹的音色、完美无暇的音准、温柔而令人陶醉的乐感”。

宁峰频繁在伦敦的威格莫尔音乐厅演出独奏会，近期他演出了巴赫《无伴奏小提琴奏鸣曲与组曲》全集，并在油管上直播。他曾多次在基辛根夏季音乐节上演出，并与埃德加·莫罗、丹尼尔·穆勒-朔特和尼古拉斯·安格里希和伊戈尔·列维特等艺术家合作。22/23乐季他在意大利进行独奏会巡演，演出了帕格尼尼《24首随想曲》。23/24乐季宁峰在中国国家大剧院、江苏大剧院、上海音乐厅、广州大剧院、西安音乐厅等演出巴赫《无伴奏小提琴奏鸣曲与组曲》全集。

荷兰Channel Classics唱片公司为宁峰录制了多张备受好评的唱片，他与钢琴家左章共同录制的最新专辑《勃拉姆斯钢琴与小提琴奏鸣曲》于2023年2月正式发行。此前该唱片公司为宁峰发行的《巴赫无伴奏小提琴奏鸣曲与组曲全集》唱片被《留声机》杂志称赞为“与众不同的录音，这是一场充满了想象力的音乐对话，观众也深深为之吸引”。其它已发行的录音还包括埃尔加、芬济、柴可夫斯基小提琴协奏曲以及布鲁赫的《苏格兰幻想曲》，萨拉萨蒂、拉罗、拉威尔、比才/沃克斯曼等作曲家为小提琴和乐队而写的作品，他作为龙四重奏成员录制的舒伯特、德沃夏克、鲍罗丁、肖斯塔科维奇和魏因伯格四重奏作品集。

宁峰出生于中国成都，曾就读于四川音乐学院，跟随胡惟民教授学习，并在柏林汉斯·艾斯勒音乐学院和英国皇家音乐学院追随Antje Weithaas和胡坤深造，宁峰是英国皇家音乐学院近两百年历史上首位在毕业独奏音乐会上拿到满分的学生，并获颁英国皇家音乐学院院士（FRAM），此殊荣仅授予300名在音乐领域有杰出表现的该学院毕业生。宁峰多次在国际舞台上获奖，包括汉诺威国际小提琴比赛、伊丽莎白女皇国际小提琴比赛和耶胡迪·梅纽因国际小提琴比赛等重要赛事。在2005年迈克·希尔国际小提琴比赛（新西兰）中宁峰获得第一名，在2006年宁峰在帕格尼尼国际小提琴比赛这项小提琴领域的最高赛事中获得了冠军。

宁峰居住在柏林，任柏林汉斯·艾斯勒音乐学院小提琴教授，并在英国北方皇家音乐学院担任国际小提琴导师。他还担任四川音乐学院小提琴研究院副院长，及浙江音乐学院室内乐学院艺术总监。

Ning Fenghas toured Europe,Asiaand Australiawith Jaap vanZweden and the Hong Kong Philharmonic Orchestra and has been the soloist on tours of China with many orchestras includingthe Budapest Festival Orchestra and Iván Fischer, with whom he hasperformed several times in Budapest, withtheBerlinKonzerthausOrchesterand Lawrence Foster, and with the Royal Liverpool Philharmonic Orchestrawith whom he performs regularly. In China,Ning Fengis held in the highest regard,appearing regularly with all the major orchestras, visiting international orchestras and in recital. In 20/21 he was the Artist-in-Residence with the Shanghai Symphony Orchestra. In 22/23 he returned with collaborations with 9 different orchestras including China Philharmonic, Shanghai Symphony, Hangzhou Philharmonic and etc. and opened the season for Qingdao Symphony and Xi’an Symphony. He conducted and played as soloist on the concert with Guangzhou Symphony. In 23/24, he is the Artist-in-Residence for China National Centre for the Performing Arts (NCPA) and starts his “Bach Project” presenting Bach’s solo violin works and violin concerti.

Ning performs regularly at London’s Wigmore Hall where he recently performed Bach’s complete Sonatas and Partitas for Solo Violin and live-streamed on YouTube. He has performed many times at Kissinger Sommer Festival, and has collaborated with artists including Edgar Moreau,Daniel Müller-Schott, Nicholas Angelich and Igor Levit. In 22/23 he toured in Italy with a solo Paganini programme. In 23/24 Ning tours with Bach’s complete Sonatas and Partitas for Solo Violin at the most prestigious venues throughout China, as part of his “Bach Project”.

Ning Feng records for Channel Classics and hismost recentalbum ‘Brahms Violin Sonatas’ with pianist Zee Zee was released inFebruary 2023. His recording of Bach’s complete solo works for violin was hailed by Gramophone as “unlike anyone else’s… it’s the illusion of a freewheeling conversation projected from within that held me captive."His discography also includesconcerti byElgar,Finzi,Tchaikovsky,Bruch(Scottish Fantasy),works for violin and orchestra bySarasate, Lalo, Ravel and Bizet/Waxman, and withthe Dragon Quartetworksby Schubert,Dvořák, Borodin, Shostakovich and Weinberg.

Born in Chengdu, China, Ning Feng studied at the Sichuan Conservatory of Music with Weimin Hu, theHannsEisler School of Music (Berlin) with AntjeWeithaasand the Royal Academy of Music (London) with HuKun, where he was the first student ever to be awarded 100% for his final recital. He was awarded as the Fellow of the Royal Academy of Music (FRAM), which is an honor limited to 300 former Academy students who have distinguished themselves within the music profession. The recipient of prizes at the Hanover International, Queen Elisabeth and Yehudi Menuhin International violin competitions, Ning Feng was First Prize winner of the 2005 Michael Hill International Violin Competition (New Zealand), and in 2006 won first prize in the International Paganini Competition.

Ning Feng plays the 1710 Stradivari violin known as the ‘Vieuxtemps Hauser’, by kind arrangement with Premiere Performances of Hong Kong, and plays on strings byThomastik-Infeld, Vienna.

He lives in Berlin and is a Violin Professor at the HannsEisler School of Music (Berlin) and also holds the position of International Chair of Violin at the Royal Northern College of Music in Manchester. In China he serves as the Deputy Dean of Violin Research Institute of Sichuan Conservatory of Music and the Artistic Director of Chamber Music Academy of Zhejiang Conservatory of Music.

For me the litmus test with any recording of Paganini’s mighty ‘24’ is the ‘Trill’ Caprice (No 6), where a mournful melody dominates one line with a tremolo shimmering away on another. Given a sympathetic player the textural combination will break your heart. Such a player is the Chinese-born, Berlin-based violinist Ning Feng, who lifts the music out of the flashy virtuoso catchment and places it squarely among the noble masterpieces for the instrument.

Many violinists will be humbled by Ning Feng’s musical and technical capabilities but more important than that is his ability to make the music palatable for listeners who wouldn’t normally gravitate to a sequence of 25 unaccompanied violin miniatures. The more you listen, the more you want to listen. The competition is fierce, of course: Augustin Hadelich’s similarly imaginative set (Warner,2/18) works equally well, while Salvatore Accardo (DG, 9/78), Itzhak Perlman (Warner, 6/72) and Zehetmair (a personal favourite) also warrant serious attention. But Ning Feng is up there with the best of them, and he’s beautifully recorded to boot.

How would the violin legend and composer Niccolò Paganini (1782-1840) have reacted if he heard Ning Feng play his capriccios? Maybe he would have made them more difficult. The 24 capriccios for solo violin, published in 1817, are considered the bible for violin technique. They are intended to showcase the virtuosity, to raise the bar of the violin playing.

The thrill of listening to virtuoso pieces is that you hear and feel that someone is being challenged, usually it just works out.. We have now reached such a level that that element has disappeared. And that without any "look at me". The decapricciofication is complete, what remains is music full of passion. Ning Feng has played out Paganini.
