GOLDEN HORN Musicians of Salzburg Horn Quartet

萨尔茨堡圆号四重奏由四位优秀的乐团首席圆号音乐家所组成,分别来自于奥地利的汉内斯·格雷罗·阿诺德、英国的艾略特·豪利、委内瑞的拉大卫·苏慕萨、瑞士的加布里埃尔·西贝尔。他们拥有及其丰富的演奏经验与对音乐演奏的热情,并对于向观众展现圆号音乐的深度与多样性有着极大的热忱。

汉内斯·格雷罗·阿诺德Hannes Guerreiro-Arnold

来自奥地利的圆号演奏家汉内斯·格雷罗·阿诺德,师从萨尔茨堡莫扎特音乐与艺术大学汉斯约克·安格勒和拉多万·弗拉特科维奇教授,并于2010年获得伦敦皇家音乐学院的硕士学位。

目前担任萨尔茨堡爱乐乐团首席圆号,并定期与萨尔茨堡CAMERATA室内乐团、维也纳广播交响乐团、因斯布鲁克蒂罗勒交响乐团、伦敦交响乐团、苏格兰皇家国家交响乐团、BBC威尔士国家交响乐团合作演出。

艾略特·豪利Elliott Howley

艾略特·豪利是一名英国/爱尔兰籍圆号演奏家,目前居住在奥地利萨尔茨堡。他曾在伦敦皇家音乐学院和萨尔茨堡莫扎特音乐与艺术大学学习,师从拉多万·弗拉特科维奇教授。目前在科隆室内乐团担任第一圆号,并经常与萨尔茨堡爱乐乐团合作。

加布里埃尔·西贝尔Gabriel Sieber

Biography Salzburg Horn Quartet

Making their debut at the Bad Hofgastein Chamber Music Festival in 2019, the Salzburg Horn Quartet has since played at various festivals across Austria such as Salzburg Festival, Paul Hofhaimer Tage and Promenadenkonzerte Innsbruck. Based in Salzburg, the four outstanding horn players originally come from Austria, Switzerland, Great Britain and Venezuela. While playing chamber music is their passion, the members also regularly work with Philharmonie Salzburg as well as other orchestras across Europe, such as Basel Symphony Orchestra and Cologne Chamber Orchestra.

The group’s members are committed to showcasing the depth and versatility of the horn repertoire to new audiences. Their program ranges from traditional Austrian music with its folklore influences to the classical period and music from the late 19th and 20th century as well as arrangements of pop and jazz standards of our time.

Hannes Guerreiro-Arnold

Hannes Guerreiro-Arnold is an Austrian horn player. As a teenager he won several first prizes as a soloist at the Austrian music competition ‘Prima la Musica’. At the age of 16 he began to study at the Mozarteum Salzburg with Hansjörg Angerer. After finishing his Bachelor degree Hannes then continued to study at the Royal Academy of Music in London with Michael Thompson, Richard Watkins and Martin Owen where he finished his Master degree in 2010.

In multiple masterclasses during his studies Hannes had the chance to work on his musicianship with renowned horn players such as Radovan Vlatkovic, Johannes Hinterholzer, Alessio Allegrini, Stefan Dohr and David Pyatt.

Since then he has been playing with professional orchestras such as Radio Symphony Orchestra Vienna, Tiroler Symphonieorchester Innsbruck, Tiroler Festspiele Erl, London Symphony Orchestra, London Contemporary Orchestra, Royal Scottish National Orchestra, BBC National Orchestra of Wales and Symphony Orchestra of India. Through these engagements Hannes had the privilege to work under the baton of Edward Gardner, Vladimir Ashkenazy, Valery Gergiev amongst many others. These experiences reinforced his passion for the French horn.

Currently he is the principal horn of Philharmonie Salzburg with whom he appeared as a soloist playing Mozart Horn Concerto KV 447 as well as Michael Haydn Concerto in D major and regularly works as a substitute player with Camerata Salzburg.

Elliott Howley

Elliott Howley in a British/Irish horn player who was born in Ireland and moved to England at the age of 7. Elliott currently resides in Salzburg, Austria.He studied at the Royal Academy of Music in London with Michael Thompson, Richard Watkins and Roger Montgomery. Followed by a masters degree from the Mozarteum University Salzburg, with professor Radovan Vlatkovic.

He is currently playing 1st horn in the Cologne Chamber Orchestra as well as regularly playing with the Philharmonie Salzburg. Highlights from Elliott's playing career include Mahler's second symphony with Semyon Bychkov, playing Elgar's first symphony with John Wilson at the BBC proms and playing 1st horn in Bruckner's fourth symphony on the top of a mountain in the Austrian Alps, over 2000m high. Elliott is also a keen historical performer, playing Natural horn and baroque horn regularly, including in the Baroque Orchestra Salzburg, the Kohn Cantata series London and the Austrian Classical Orchestra.

As a chamber musician Elliott is also a member of the award winning Daphnis Wind Quintet who tour regularly and have received international acclaim. Elliott is also an experienced soloist having performed Mozart's second, third and fourth concertos, and Richard Strauss's first horn concerto with orchestras in Salzburg as well as across Europe and the U.K. Highlights for the coming year include the Schumann Konzerstück for 4 hours and orchestra, Mahler's ninth symphony and as a soloist in Mozart's Sinfonia Concertante.

David Somoza

Born in the north of Venezuela, David Somoza began playing the horn at the age of fifteen as part of the national youth orchestra system "El Sistema" in Venezuela. He received lessons and

orchestra training with Prof. Jose Gimenez (principal horn in the Simon Bolivar Symphony Orchestra) and later with Prof. Vladimir Dubois (principal horn at the Opera de Paris) at the Paris Conservatory, where he obtained a Diploma in Music Studies. Additionally he finished a Master of Arts degree at the Mozarteum in Salzburg with Prof. Matias Pineira.

In several master classes David Somoza received valuable artistic impulses from Hervé Joulain, Andrew Bain, Radovan Vlatković, Christian Lampert, Sarah Willis, Radek Baborak and Will Sanders.

David gained experience in youth and professional orchestras in Venezuela, France, Italy, Sweden, Germany and Austria. During his studies, he became a member of the Youth Orchestra of the Americas, the Lucerne Festival Academy Orchestra in Switzerland, and the Academy Orchestra of Teatro alla Scala in Milan. There he had the opportunity to work with conductors such as Gustavo Dudamel, Simon Rattle, Christoph Eschenbach, Riccardo Chailly, Lorenzo Viotti, Wolfgang Rhin, Daniel Harding and Maxim Vengerov.

His engagements have enabled him to perform in concert halls such as the Philharmonie of Paris, the Teatro de Bellas Artes in Mexico, the KKL in Lucerne, the Cologne Philharmonie, the Simon Bolivar Hall in Caracas, the Teatro Ponchielli Cremona, the Giuseppe Verdi Hall and the Teatro alla Scala in Milan, the Göthenburg Symphony Hall, among others. Currently David regularly works with Philharmonie Salzburg.

Gabriel Sieber

Gabriel Sieber, originally from Lucerne, Switzerland, started to play the horn at the age of seven with Lukas Christinat. Gabriel has already won several first prizes at the Swiss Youth Music Competition as a soloist and with various chamber music ensembles.

At the International Horn Festival (IHF) in Sarnen, Gabriel attended master classes with Richard Watkins, Radovan Vlatkovic and Hermann Baumann and immediately was invited to play in the IHF orchestra.

In October 2021 he completed his bachelor studies in concert horn at the University Mozarteum Salzburg with Radovan Vlatković where he currently continues to finish his Master degree. In addition to the french horn, Gabriel also plays the alphorn. He performed as a soloist in several concerts, for example in the Philharmonie Essen, in the Christmas concert of the Pauluskirche Lucerne or in the St. Thaddäus Church in Augsburg.

During the 2021/22 season Gabriel held the position as an horn intern in the Bern Symphony Orchestra. That summer he also played the special project and summer tour of the Gustav Mahler Youth Orchestra under the direction of Teodor Currentzis and Jukka-Pekka Saraste.

Since then he performed with the "Ensemble Minui" at the "Festival aufm Platz" and with "Chaarts" in the "Staufer Festspiele”. Currently Gabriel is a regular substitute player in the Lucerne Symphony Orchestra, the Argovia Philharmonic, the Basel Symphony Orchestra as well as Philharmonie Salzburg.
